Retreat Highlights
These are some of the signature experiences available at Munay Sonqo. Each can be woven into your retreat based on your vision and your group’s interests. Beyond what’s featured here, we offer many additional activities and ceremonies covering spa treatments, and spiritual and cultural experiences. Let’s explore what resonates with your retreat’s intention.
Machu Picchu
Our Machu Picchu day trip is led by a local spiritual guide who will share the traditions and practices of Andean cosmology. They will teach us about the spirits of the mountains, and guide us through ancient rituals performed when visiting sacred land. These rituals guide us to connect with the wisdom and energy of this very special place.
Chinchero, Maras Salt Mines, & Moray
Your group will get to experience a connection to Peru’s Incan heritage as we visit three powerful energy spots. Our journey begins with a sacred ritual, where we’ll learn to ask permission from Pachamama (Mother Earth) to enter these lands. We’ll then offer Mamacoca (coca leaves) and Chicha (the ancestral drink of the Incas), as a sign of respect and gratitude.
Pisac & Urcco
On our visit to Pisac, our spiritual guide will lead us in a sacred ritual to connect with the spirits of the mountains, plants, stones, and ancestors. We will then visit the Pisac craft market, enjoy an organic Andean lunch in Uchuy Qosqo, and explore the Urcco water temple to work with the energy of water and flower essences.
Traditional Andean Despacho Ceremony
Despacho ceremonies are offerings to the land or Pachamama, and are used in Andean cosmology as a system of reciprocity between the material and spiritual worlds. The purpose of the despacho is to return to Mother Earth what she has given us, and to express our deepest desires and aspirations in life.
Spa Sessions
Our spa sessions offer a combination of holistic wellness and healing arts, encompassing alternative and modern therapies, in connection with the wisdom andmysticism of the Incas. Enjoy the benefits of steam sauna, dry sauna, infrared sauna, plunge pool, jacuzzi, and our unique salt cave where you can experience halotherapy.
Sound Healing
In one of Munay Sonqo’s Shalas, you’ll experience the soothing sound waves of harmonic instruments from around the world. This session will guide you into deeper states of relaxation and help you access expanded states of consciousness, promoting a sense of harmony between your mind, body, and spirit.
